Shoes for the hunt field/riding out on varied terrain

Whoo-hoo gothedistance!! Sounds like fun times for you. I am interested in the aluminum St C’s. Seriously, they hold up? I have always been told not to use al for roads. I live in a sandy area (NE Oregon high desert) and would love to get away from steel. I have one guy that needs something on his front hooves. He foundered last year and seems sore without shoes.

Nic, you have beautiful horses. I love grays (greys?) and even though my old horse was a pita to clean, no horse looked better than him in his parade turnout. A question about your feeding regime. One of my horses has always been sensitive to food. Right now they’re on dried up pasture grass with orchard hay to supplement, no grains. If you had a fat horse that only gets ridden on the weekends, what would you feed?
