Ugh. We know the shooter is probably judgment-proof. So that means they will try to go after Murieta or show management.

There are few enough venues willing and able to put on horseshows without them being exposed to this kind of huge (and unjust?) liability.

I think Dale is sort of butting in, and thwarting the investigation. Or more a#$ covering. Seems the Sheriff does not want the possible suspect ID’d as they are working on it privately–I’d estimate. But I bet the suspect, whoever he is (wink), is hundreds of miles deep into Mexico. Like any criminal on the loose, the cops will never disclose much about their investigation until they have the suspect in custody. Don’t want to tip of the suspect they are close. I think the sheriff’s reply on Dale’s post was just to try to cover up or squelch further posting.

If that’s the case, I would say they are hugely underestimating the horse show grapevine.

If anything, they should offer a decent sized reward for information and put the posters up at every food stand at every horse show in California. They would probably have the guy in three days flat.
