LOL!!!

Vaseline always comes in handy. We use it to smooth down their manes/bands. I think some people use it around the eyes and nose for a little extra sheen, but I haven’t done that before.

If you have a horse with socks like my pain in the butt to clean gelding, then make sure you bring an aresenal of Spray N’ White, laundry detergent, and spray chalk if you can find it.

Bobby pins and Aquanet - 2 must haves to keep a hat in place

Lucky for me, my horse is a blue roan with minimal white, so if needed, I can just rub in the dark stains and they blend right in!

Pad of paper and a pen or pencil. If any of your classes include patterns, you’ll want to write them down (if the show doesn’t give out copies). Besides, you never know when you might need to share contact info with someone you’ve met there.

Also, a mini sewing kit with safety pins and an extra button or two. Being able to fix a wardrobe malfunction would be very handy.

Leather punch

A hose and bathing supplies unless it is a one day show and you bathe before you leave.

Saddle Stand
Bridle rack
Camera
Hay (not just the bag)
Grain and any supplements
Stall sign with name and emergency numbers
Extra hay twine (you never know when you may need some!)
Sunscreen
Human bug spray

I need to dig my checklist out. I know there is a lot more on mine.

Heres a nice site that has a great checklist on it. Lots more than I ever need for my day rides but always better to have too much than to be missing that 1 important item.

Fake tail.

I’m amazed that practically everyone uses them.

Corn starch or grooming chalk for white socks.

A Hand mirror. For you.
A stiff brush for brushing off your hat and clothes.
I like those boot shine wipes to give a once over to boots once you’re up in the saddle.
A silver polishing glove to buff up silver when you have some down time.

Here’s a good one from Hobby Horse that you can print out and use:
