Show Me You Have A Horse

Will try, but low confidence. Pickups tend to be wider than compacts.

The warm-weather tack trunk contents get hauled around. You never know when you’ll spot some poor horse at the roadside begging for every coat conditioner and human tick spray ever made.

Friend of mine uses duct tape to ā€˜mend’ broken tine spaces in her forks. Works great!

That was my first ā€œrepairā€.
Lasted several months, but was coming off, so next up: baling twine!

@Bluey That’s a legit Driving whip. 5-6’ is small Horse size. My VSE whip is just short of 5’
The Rule is the lash needs to be long enough to touch the shoulder of your horse. Lead horses if you’re driving a 4.

Truck tire shredded and did a number on my car on the way to the barn. Used duct tape and baling twine to make some temporary repairs. Because I wasn’t going to go home and miss my lesson…

Was going to say, there is a lot going on in that trunk. :joy: Scared to see the receipt total (on the left). :money_mouth_face:

A friend and I were all bundled up to go watch a clinic, and we were smelly because we’d just mucked out the barn. We got to the venue but the clinic had been cancelled. ā€œIt’s not far, let’s go to the National Gallery and look at the art!ā€

We had every picture to ourselves. One of the best museum trips I’ve ever done.

Me too! Laughed Out Loud!

I LOLed and had to explain to DH what I was laughing at – when I read it to him, he loled as well! :joy:

I see your car trunks, and I raise you some home excess tack storage!

I call your raise with a closet and a fraction of the stuff that hasn’t fit into the closet (yet?).

The closet was a great idea that merely revealed the depth of the true problem of the horse stuff in this house …

I’m counting 4 saddles. Correct me if I’m wrong! :joy:

That would be true. Most very old. They don’t count the two jumping saddles that are currently in use, one at the board barn and the other nesting in the car back seat.

Of course each was bought for a different horse/purpose that is no longer on scene. Should be sold. But if I need it later – couldn’t replace any for what they cost now, even very used. Classic saddle hoarder logic.

(How bout that ancient Prestige on the top left of the stack. I love it. It doesn’t work for any current rides and also needs reflocking. Make an offer on anything. )

Seeing ā€œThe Horseā€ book is bringing back fond memories! My father probably learned more than he ever wanted to about horse breeds from that book.

I was always trying to sway him to buy a horse with good breed characteristics. :joy:
