Site preparing to crash?

still seeing very often the error message

also a first time ever when checking notifications the site said I did not have any notifications which is not correct

and of course this message came up when attempting to connect to a thread

“Sorry, we couldn’t load that topic, possibly due to a connection problem. Please try again. If the problem persists, let us know.”

Well darn, that is a far more polite way to be a difficult forum than I was dealing with this morning.

First thing I could not scroll at all. The slide bar feature worked, but scrolling, even using the touch screen, would not work. Other sites worked, so it was not my computer.

Then the forum randomly logged me off while I was in the middle of reading a thread.

It’s much worse today, scrolling is worse, I get a 500 error when trying to post half the time, and I’m also getting logged off randomly. And freezing.

Wow, still happening and I doubt it is because there is so much traffic on the site. It is 6am EDT on a Friday morning.

It is not my computer/internet. Other websites are working just fine.
And note that they had no problem loading the ads on both sides of the error.

Edit to add -
Once again, while I was reading a post. Not scrolling, not touching anything. Stuff on the screen was just sitting there, a random error appears.
I assume it had to do with loading ads or something.

Even worse here this morning. Keeps locking and I have to shut off and reboot to get out. I also get the error page just reading and my computer starts randomly beeping

Those still having issues, could you please try clearing your cookies for the site and see if you’re still experiencing issues with the site.

not having any issues currently, site is responsive possibly better than ever

I cleaned cookies last week when mod 1 suggested.

This morning things are very slow. No error codes, just very slow. Plain white page sits there long enough that I wonder if the page is going to load.

Only COTH.

Are the issues limited to the Forums or also the Chronicle’s main site?

Sorry I was not more clear.
I will say that those problems were happening earlier and are not happening now (last half hour or so).

Desktop computer, using Chrome.
On the forum, not the main site.
