Looks like Reed is no longer qualified for an individual medal
Very sadā¦I was rooting for her![/QUOTE]
Thereās still a round to go tomorrow, so a lot can happen in those rankings. Sheās right on the cusp.

Saudis are in the lead. I wonder when the horses will get drug tested (as they have a problem in that area, unfortunately.)

Oh please, like we, IRELAND, and everybody else donāt?
Iām sick of all this dissing on KSA. Credit where due, they have improved vastly since the last time I saw them getting jumped out of the tack at WEG. They must have all ridden w/o stirrups for 2 straight YEARS! You donāt get that much improvement without REALLY hard work, so more power to them and I hope they bring home gold if we canāt!
Did Reed have a time fault?
Never mind, The time fault from yesterday carried over.
They are showing this on NBC (the regular network channel) today at 1:30. Of course, NBC also says live, so they arenāt exactly accurate for that either.
Not only did he smile, but I donāt think Iāve ever seen George Morris pat a horse coming out of the ring!! Iām sure, of course, that it happens, but this made me smile. Go Flexible
Unbelieveable sad!!! No chance for Germany! Maybe Macus or Janne can get some where up the leadboard!
But we had some bad luck before the olympics with there combinations out of our normal team. We will come back strong and the super league shows that this is only one (really, really, really, really) bad day with some luck missing!
Hope that britain brings home a gold medall and one for Capatin Canada also please!!!

Only the top 45 as ranked today move on to the next individual round. So by my understanding, Reed is out for an individual medal.

Wow. And you donāt wonder about other teams and drugs? This anti-KSA attitude is ugly.

totally okay with a gold medal for them if they wouldnāt have Al Sharbatly on their teamā¦

Looks like you are right. I thought no one was cut till after the 3rd round. So yes, no Reed in the individual.

Not dissing KSA when it comes to their improvement and I have absolutely nothing against them ābuying all the best horses for a gazillion dollarsā.
I do have a strong resentment to drug use on animals to enhance performance. Whichever country they come from who get caught.
And a strong resentment to the way FEI/CAS (or whoever made the decision) let them off the hook by reducing their punishment by 6 months enabling them to start in the olympics and therefore making the punishment worthless.
So is it 100% sure that Reed is out of the individual cut off?
Here are the official standings

Some riders have a āQā after their name, which assume means qualified. Then some riders have an āRā. Some riders have nothing. What does the āRā signify?
Reed is tied for 47th right now. Not sure what they are doing with the tiesā¦

Ditto LucyShow. re KSA.
The results so far are wild! I feel terrible for Tiffany - she must be devastated. In my mind itās unfair that sheās completely eliminated yet after the infractions Al Shabartly had - the KSA is on top.
Good for the KSA for improving though.
The āRā means reserve so if any of the top 45 come up lame one of the reserve aka Jill Henselwood (1st on the list) gets to compete.

The hypersensitivity rule does not imply foul play. It could be as simple as the horse striking and cutting himself. It just means the horse canāt compete in the rest of that competition/show.
I think itās good that they take a proactive stance to protect the horses. Yeah, it sucks in a situation like at the Olympics.
Regarding the KSA team, I believe the violation was for trace amounts bute, and not anything that would actually effect the competition. It was outside the rules and so he was suspensed and fined. I fail to see why having trace amounts of what is legitemently a drug used for the welfare of the horse deserves a 2 year penalty, when anabolic steroids (US eventer) and a long acting sedative (Germany dressage) did not receive such severe penalties either.
At the end of the day, Iāll wait until the drug tests come back before I convict and crucify someone for horrid maldoing.
I tend to dip in and out of showjumping when itās televised so I was pleasantly surprised to remember Sultan- I watched him win the Foxhunter back in '09.

Interesting. So how did they give an R to Billy Twomey, bit not one to the Chilean, Milthaler, even though both are on 12 faults?
