True! I think it would have to be the kind of thing where they are involved, i.e. if you order a prescription from your vet (who partners with Covetrus), you can opt to have your prescription portioned into your smartpaks (for an extra charge). I know their flavored bute powder was pretty popular when they offered it.
So now where are we going to shop for low to moderately priced everyday riding apparel, especially breeches? Pipers werenât always the best fit on me, but they were cheap and came in a lot of sizes (including long) and fun colors.
I love my Free Rides for breeches specifically but for other tack and clothing items Riding Warehouse is where itâs at (or has been). I had been buying more from SmartPak as I was getting feed delivered from them but since they donât (or wonât rather - there is a ton left for them to clear out in the Sale category) offer those items anymore and I can get my feed cheaper from Chewy, Iâll be shopping elsewhere. I do try to buy most things second hand to keep costs down and be semi environmentally conscious.
Riding Warehouse, I guess, but they are a bit boring.
So with the rename, are they still going to offer dog supplements? or are they getting out of them so as not to compete with Covetrus?
If you want cheap riding tights, I got a couple pair off Amazon a few years ago for cheap and they have held up well for schooling.
My guess is that dog supplements might stay, just as the horse supplements do, since Covetrus carries those, though it is just a guess.
lol @ boring
I donât disagree - I donât get the same dopamine rush visiting RW site vs I used to get from SP. No idea why when there is a ton of product overlap.
Same.
Love the customer service at RW and their stuff arrives in just a couple of days. But it seems like I donât spend any money there lately. Not sure if itâs the brands they carry, the limited selection of items or the bare bones website design.
If RW or Dover were smart, they would buy the Piper lineâŠ
Itâs funny, isnât it? I like shopping at RW, if they have what I need, because prices are competitive, shipping is fast, and they have a good return policy. But the website and the company both do seem very bland? Iâve never once interacted with their customer service, which ultimately is probably a good thing because it means there havenât been issues. But I agree with you guys that itâs less engaging somehow. Weâre not the only ones either, judging by the very few reviews for most products. I truly donât mind it, but itâs definitely different.
Iâve seen them in the store at both TSC and Dover.
It looks like theyâve rebranded all the Uckele products as SmartEquine as well. CocoSoya, GUT, and the Devilâs Claw on the TSC site were branded as that. I hope it doesnât affect accessibility for other retailers to keep getting them.
OK, that just seems confusing with the multiple names, if you ask me. Which they did not, obviously.
Also, I was in two different TSC locations in the last 24 hours, and I did not see a display like that. But maybe I was just not in the right section of the store.
This was off by itself a bitâŠby the restrooms
It seems like it should have its own end cap or standalone kiosk thingy because on the lower shelf are other brands that are kind of distracting. I mean, you canât miss those neon yellow Select buckets.
I just think itâs interesting that they hopped in bed so quickly with TSC. Out here, I donât think thereâs much crossover between TSC customers and those who buy regularly from SP/SE. Yet I suppose if they wanted a retail interface (or whatever the marketing term is), there isnât much else to choose from.
Wow very interesting! But for anyone using more than I supplement, not having them in one strip seems very inefficient.
I remember back in the day when certain PetSmartâs had the Stateline Tack section. I used to love going there! Of course I think the alternative was still using the catalog and mailing in your order along with a check
Yeah, to be honest, if I saw this I think my mind would drift to âwasteful, single use product because I canât be bothered to use a pre portioned scoopâ. Obviously if youâre boarding and you have multiple supplements, therein lies the value in a SmartPak.
I can see why they wouldnât want to drop the brand recognition in that name. I think even my non horse mom knows SmartPak as a concept. But I donât love the display and the re branding seems silly. I work for a company that rebranded in the same way that Dunkin dropped Donuts bc they felt it pigeon holed them. I still use the old name when talking to acquaintances because the new one is confusing.
