Whomever the owner is (or whomever thinks it’s OK for this horse to be in a race) must not give a ^&%^& about the well being of the horse. If it were my horse I would give him plenty of groceries before doing anything else. The poor horse.

The horse you mention was eliminated by lameness after the first loop of the ride. It completed the 160k Quilty Cup in Australia last August, and was subsequently sold overseas. The former owners are apparently very upset - but they have the money to console them I guess.

This letter from the officiating vets makes one very sad for the sport.

IMO any rider who took that horse 40 miles should have been made to do so bareback

The horse appears weak and unfit for the race. The one who said the horse was fit for the race should be blamed.
