Solar Fans for Run-In Sheds

I’m on the hunt for an outdoor-friendly fan that’s big enough to actually help on a hot day but runs on solar for outbuildings like field run-ins. Has anyone come across something that works? Thank you!

Not solar, but I have some rechargeable Geek Aire fans that work great for situations without electricity.

I know that’s not what you asked. But I’ve been searching for an effective, affordable, easy install solar fan set up for years and haven’t been able to find it. The rechargeable fans were a welcome alternative!

A battery one:

Thank you! Out of desperation I purchased an attic fan with solar with the idea of reversing the angle, but I like the idea of a rechargeable. Bluey, the portable mister is intriguing! I wonder how it’ll work with humidity. Worth checking out.

Maybe just run the fan, without the water?

The Geek Aire model with misting is a little cheaper:

Cool! How well does it work? Does it include everything needed? Is it reasonable to install? Sorry for all the questions, the link really doesn’t say much.

The reviews are not that good:

I love these suggestions, thank you! Orders have been placed and I will report back. The current heat wave has our animals suffering more than in years past and I’d like to help them out.

I called them. The guy is super helpful and even gave me links to other options that may work for me. Told me how to install if I didnt want to drill thru my metal roof and everything. He was really nice. Unfortunately they are still out of my price range :/. We already have a Ryobi weedwacker so I bought their little 12inch shop fan for my seniors stall. It runs on high from 12pm to 7pm and is still going strong when I turnout in the evenings! I have the 4AH battery.

@carman_liz this might be a silly question, but how often do you recharge the batteries? I’m reading some reviews where people say they get 8+ hours out of them, but I’m not clear if people have multiple batteries they are switching out while the other charges. I’m really interested in this concept!

I grab the battery when i feed in the morning. Around 7am, then at lunch around 12:15 when I come home to put them up I grab it off the charger n plug it into the fan on his stall. When I go out there about 6:30 / 7pm its still on. I leave it on while I clean stalls and putz around out there. Usually till almost 8. For the most part it is still running then. I leave it out there because some nights are super muggy n hot here so its there in case he comes into his stall to munch on his chopped hay till the sun is completely down. I do that everyday. Having more than one battery would help but right now I only have the one.

I was planning on doing the solar attic fans in mine or running current if I have to.
