soooo bummed, no hunting due to tendonitis

Hey Bigbay,

First, so glad you were able to go out and have a run today! 2nd, if I could figure out how to get my hands on some ultrasound, I know it would do a world of good - the rest I can pretty much manage on my own. Gonna check with a friend who’s a chiropracter and see if he’s got one - my insurance will pay for a visit at a time and no big gatekeeper/referral hoo-ha bs. You’re spot on, though, that was pretty much the regimen that loosened up the bum shoulder to the point I can live with it now. Best of luck with your ankle - this kind of thing is NO fun

mortebella,

my family phys just prescribed the PT for me, he felt that I didn’t need to go to an ortho since we knew what it was. Per the ultrasound… FYI, if it is set too high in will hurt! It gets buzzing too much and YEOOWW! but the tech can turn it down, it shouldn’t hurt.

I’ve also had accupuncture suggested to me for my “itis”. I am looking for a reliable one…wish I could use my horse’s, that guy is great!

Good lucK!

Hey Bigbay,

I had luck! My chiro friend DOES have ultrasound, so I know that will help me bunches. It’s just beyond ridiculous to have to wait a month (or more) to see my primary care physician to have him do nothing but write an order for more PT, pay a hefty co-pay for that privilege, wait weeks for PT “assessment,” which is not a covered expense, wait another week before real therapy begins…most of which I don’t need because I can do at home, except for the ultrasound. Ya know? I could do a thesis on the ways our health care system is broken - and most people probably could.

FWIW, I didn’t find accupuncture to be helpful, but my case was SO severe and so advanced by the time I tried it, no indication that’s really typical. Take with grain of salt (large.)

Anyone know of supps for humans to help with tendon/ligaments health?

I also went for the wider stirrups and I think the steel shank boots are the way to go!

yayy!

Oh, I was sooooo happy to be first field yesterday.

We had our hunt ball on Saturday, so I did some dancing and the ankle felt pretty good!

So, sunday, my trainer said she asked to ride the TB since he’s the “easy button” and she was alot more hungover than I was LOL. So, I switched the jointed stirrups to my Mach 5 mare’s saddle.

I was sweating it a bit because I didn’t know how my ankle was going to hold up. The TB is so comfortable you can just sit and hang on…Mare likes to be strong…

But OH BOOY did we have fun! Awesome weather, great scent, fast and lots of jumps. Mare stayed where I asked her to be and was a blast. We had so much fun! My ankle was fine after the hunt and everyone was happy to see me walk around normally. We were all really tired, but was it fun!

Happy Happy!

Yeah…right!!!

Hunting & dancing on the same day??!!!

Faker!!

Some of us can’t do that on normal ankles much less those with “itis”!!!
Not that I know anything about this…:p:p:p:p:p

A little of this and a little of that, mmmm!

Wateryglen,
She had the ball Sat and the hunt Sun and she didn’t said what she used to feel no pain… Might be Limoncello, might be some other kind of help… might be both, LOL!

maybe it was the wine?

I’m thinking it could be the wine?..Cuz I was feeling fine…

I used the hinged stirrups on sunday…So I think that may have helped too…

and lots and lots of Aleve…:)

O-M-G!!!
