While money is a thing, speed/time is a thing too when stuff gets overwhelming.
I’d just swap hoses. Keep this one around - when you get a minute to breathe, put the mender kit on it and store it as emergency backup.
I agree with previous posters’ suggestions regarding the rearing horse. How skilled a rider is husband, out of curiosity?
With cellulitis horse – hippie tripie crunchy granola suggestion. Have you tried taking a deep breath, exhaling, & picturing in your mind the end result of what will happen if the horse doesn’t allow you to care for the foot? Sometimes, they get it.
ETA: duct tape for the Maligator hose bite. And talk to her & explain what’s going on. She likely bit the hose thinking you shouldn’t go on vacation. And, I’m so sorry! Wish I were closer & could run the circus for you while you took a break
