philipe karl may be great but all those horses are over round in the neck, low in the poll, weak in the contact, short in the neck, and dropped in the back with the hind legs out behind them. the idea of backing a horse to make him piaffe is quite old and if you back up around a piaffe in a test, you are going to lose a heck of a lot of points. i don’t think he will be anyones national coach soon though i’m sure some will borrow some tricks from his bag of tricks.
