Spruce Meadows Masters! Anyone been and have advice?

Thank you guys!! Sorry to hijack the thread SC! Super excited for tomorrow, West Grandstand is the place to be

Just back from two fantastic days in Calgary! Spruce Meadows is everything I heard it was and more!!
We followed your advice and placed our blankets on the grass Saturday at around 9 am… walked around, watched some competition in the Canada Ring, and made it back for the Suncor Cup (won by Scott Brash!), lined up for food and returned to our blankets for the Nations’ Cup!! Brazil was riding great and France came back in the second round to take second place and beat Canada. What a great atmosphere!! Got nice sunburns to attest that the weather was great!!
Sunday, it was much much cooler but we had covered seats… great view and I will never forget the silence during Scott’s second round and the roar when he cleared the last fence!! All the riders were watching at the in gate and erupted in applause when he won!! I managed to take about 1300 pictures!!! and my card filled just when he took his last two jumps!! grrr
This was our first visit to SM and we loved it. It was the perfect year to go, the 40th anniversary, the Grand Slam…
We did not go into Calgary and we stayed by the airport. It took a short 1/2 hour to get to SM. Parking was easy and well organized. Saturday, we decided do shop a bit more after the show (my DD got a beautiful girth from Voltaire designs) and there was no delay in leaving… very easy. Same thing on Sunday… no back up at all because we waited a bit… loved it.
Thank you for all the good advice! we did had those Dutch crepes (no line up), drank gallons of water (kept refilling our bottles)…
It was cold and wet this morning… 5C but it is 26C at home!..
I must admit that driving in Calgary (if you leave the main “trails”) is rather confusing with the street names North East going south?

I know, it can be a little weird. Calgary is divided into 4 quadrants which tell you where in the city you are, not where the road is going. So 16th Ave NE is an avenue (which in Calgary run east-west), 16 blocks north of downtown, and east of Centre St. 16th Ave SE is 16 blocks SOUTH of downtown, again east of Centre St.
