Stallion Choice for my Mare? VIDEO CLIPS!

My understanding is that to be registered and branded as a Hanoverian, the sire and dam must have been inspected and accepted into either the AHS studbook or the Hannoveraner Verband.

You cannot choose outside stallions and expect the resulting foal to be registered/branded Hanoverian.

Thanks!

I have a wonderful coming 3 year old gelding by Wamberto out of my mare Wintermaske (Weltbekannt/ Rubinstein I). He is a shade over 16h and has three lovely gaits, but his trot looks like it will be soft and airy, rather than tremendously powerful. He is as solid as a rock temperament wise - brave, willing to do anything asked of him and unfazed by new things.

I also would recommend Benidetto for your purposes.

One more thing, I don’t want to produce a Hunter, more of a low level Dressage/Event horse that is also a trail horse, fun horse for myself.

I had posted earlier looking for suggestions for trainers for this mare, but I think I will use this time off to breed her (while I’m rehabbing from my ankle surgery).

She needs to produce a foal to complete her requirement for Elite Mare.

Thanks![/QUOTE]

Escudo II was first on my mind when I read this post. Also, Pablo, Donarweiss GGF & Domiro come to mind as possible dates for your mare.
I LOVE my E II filly, she’ll mature to around 15.2h which is exactly what I was going for when I decided to breed to him. Pablo was my other choice. And after seeing Donarweiss in person, I am finding myself wanting to use him as well. I’ve seen many Domiro get that fit your exact description of what you want, so maybe check into him as well.

Escudo II was the one who popped into my head as well. If nothing else watch his stallion video–it is entertaining.

I like Don Hill…although he doesn’t have a lot of foals on the ground. I have no doubt what he does produce will be nice horses though.

Did you consider Donarweiss? He is smaller, has a good enough jump for what you want and movement and seems to pass on good even temparments…but they are still foward which is what you want for eventing and dressage.
