Nice to hear Sunnydays! How did you find the semen quality?
I bred my Florencio mare to Sir Donnerhall and got a pretty special colt who is turning 3 this year - Flash Gordon S. E. You may want to go to my website since I have pics and I think a video of Flash there.

I just saw where an Ampere son just came in as top stallion in the stallion approvals at Den Bosch!! Very surprised to hear that the semen in Australia isn’t good - it’s excellent here!
FWIW, I know one of Sunnydays’ boys by Sir Donnerhall and he really is easy to handle. I’m not his owner, but I am up close and personal with him 3-4x per week. He is coming 3, is lovely in every way and I think will be great with his amateur owner.
siebi.b - Your horses are stunning! You can send a few this way if you don’t mind
I haven’t used the Ampere, so I only know what the semen broker told me.I am so disappointed as I wanted an Ampere baby. Maybe next year if the new stock is better :roll eyes: - and for just about $2000 per dose with no LFG, you would like more reassurance than “It is not flash quality”.
What did Sir donnerhall improve on with Flash Gordon?
I really appreciate everyones help - I am not a professional breeder, just trying to make myself a new competion horse…
What about Johnson
I know you said not chestnut, but I think Belissimo M would be stunning with her. I also think Don Schufro would be lovely, but I think his frozen is not the greatest.
RedMare01 - I’m, if te fertility God’s allow :D, making a Callaho’s Benicio on a De Niro mare next year so would like another bloodline.
Don Schufro, I agree with semen - so typical!
xsalute - Is Johnson Hanoverian approved? How does he breed?
meow_meow - thanks for the compliment on my horses! I bred to Sir Donnerhall I in order to get a little bit more length on the front leg of my Florencio mare, and that’s exactly what I got! Besides, the character is hard to beat, too…
Good luck with your breeding efforts!
I have a four year old Sir Donnerhall mare that I bred. She is now going under saddle and is the best horse I have ever sat on. She is so good in her back and just gives such a great feeling. So elastic! The gaits were much improved on the dam. She is spookier than the other offspring from this same mare but of such quality I will breed the mare back again.
FWIW Don Schufro semen is good now. I had a friend use it twice in the last few years and the mare got preggers first try both times with a vet not experienced with frozen. Johnson is also a great sire and produces very rideable offspring.
Donella - please send your 3 mares this way! They are devine.
As much as I like Sir Donnerhall, I went for Wynton :o Wynton’s progeny seems to be doing well & the price fits a bit better with me… Especially after trying twice to Don Frederico and nothing (this was to another mare)
Fingers crossed!
