Stallion: FOUNDATION (Fidertanz / De Vito / Andiamo)

Does anyone know why he wasn’t approved by the Hano Verb originally? Then, enter the magicians of P Shockemoele et al and Hey Presto! - he’s “back in business” despite not having years to prove himself in sport or produce significant offspring.

Movement to die for, though.

I have heard a few reasons but don’t know if they are accurate or not. FWIW though the frozen is really poor quality.

I saw quite a few disappointed breeders’ reports that suggest some truth in there, somewhere.

Can you share some theories or hearsays? I truly don’t understand how any young stallion is suddenly approved.

Oh darn, regarding the semen! PS frozen is usually very good. Did you have to find out the hard way or did they tell you upfront?

I hate saying something negative about the stallion if I am not sure…maybe someone else will chime in? Was he not approved after his performance testing?

Anyways, a friend bought quite a bit of semen and had no luck at all and they do their own breeding and are very successful at it. Another friend also tried with no luck. Also saw on the facebook warmblood breeders group that there were many failed attempts. Only one person was successful… Apparently it looks great under the microscope.

I believe he was not approved at the Hano licensing because of his walk (tension). However, when seen undersaddle he was so impressive overall (and walk “OK”) that they reconsidered.

Matthias Rath and Foundation have won both classes (PSG & Inter I) on small tour level at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. What are your experiences with Foundation’s offspring? What does he need from the mare?
