Stallion Service Auction - Now Open for Bidding

The International Stallion Guide for Sport Horses is proud to host the 2011 annual stallion service auction, which is now open for bidding.

There are 23 services available in this year’s auction and two stud farms, Bridlewood Farm and Rainbow Equus Meadows have offered “bidders choice” on any one of their stallions.

Bidding starts at 1/2 the stallion’s regular stud fee and many stallion owners have included the booking fee in their offers. In addition to getting a stud fee at a fraction of the cost, taxes are not applicable to the winning bid.

The most recent addition to the auction is FLEXIBLE - Cruising (ISH) / Sea Crest (RID) / Safari, a US based Irish Sport Horse stallion currently competing nationally and internationally.

The stallion service auction is a unique selection of top calibre stallions, combining a cross section of stallions from multiple breed registries recognized by the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH) including Hanoverian, KWPN, Oldenburg, ISR Oldenburg NA, Holstein, Westphalian, Belgian Warmblood and other recognized breeds. All stallions are licensed and approved for breeding purposes with semen available in North America.

Bidding opens today - March 1st and closes Monday, March 14th.

For the purpose of the auction, stud fees have been converted to Canadian dollars and winning bids are processed in Canaduan funds.

The CWHBA Stallion Service Auction will be held, Sunday, March 20th. There is once again, an excellent selection of stallions from across Canada and some in the USA as well. Offspring from SSA stallions owned by CWHBA members are eligible for the foal futurity the year of their birth.

International Stallion Guide - SSA Results

Congratulations to all the winning bidders in this year’s Stallion Service Auction and many thanks to the stallion owners! This year’s auction was they best we have had with 21 of the 23 services selling and a great rally for many of the stallions - lots of fun and excitement.

The top seller was Landkonig (or bidder’s choice) which sold for $1,430 - congratulations Rainbow Equus. Edgar reports Landkonig is pleased to accept the honour. The runner up for top seller was the service for Flexible which sold for $1,270 - congratulations Carol Ives (agent).
