Stiff dress boots

If you just want a show boot, I’d go for a soft dress boot that gives a similar feel to your everyday schooling boots.

A surprisingly nice stiff dressage boot is the new Mountain Horse Serenade. Decent leather, front zip, nice tapered ankle. They don’t come large enough for me (high five to my fellow size 12 wearer on this thread), but if you fit their options they are very nice looking. Retail for $449 but if you find a coupon (mine were 20% off for Columbus Day at Centerline Style) they are relatively affordable.

This a bit of a detour, but does anyone know of a stiff half chap to mimic the feel of a stiff boot? I really don’t show, very much an amateur and really cannot justify a new pair of stiff boots. Besides, I have arthritic old feet and find my Ariat paddock boots very comfortable!
I know I nag and niggle with my heel and mare tends to tune me out.

Konig, Petrie and Cavallo all make half chaps which are not as stiff as their boots, but stiffer than usual chaps.
