Successful Olympics for the USA?
I don’t think the Germans put an asterisk next to MMB’s name. So yeah, if you come here and get American citizenship and run your business here I am happy to claim your wins as American wins regardless of where you learned to ride.
I agree with this general sentiment - I welcome Phillip, Boyd, and Steffan, and I’m really happy they’re riding for us.

At the same time, I’m not sure the comparison to MMB is apt. Steffan Peters moved from a country where it would be harder for him to make a team, to one where it would be easier for him. MMB did the exact opposite.

(I don’t know enough about eventing and Australia to know whether it’s harder to make the US or Aussie team).

The athlete carrying the U.S. flag at the closing ceremonies will be Simone Biles! A wonderful choice of an amazing athlete.

You’re a citizen, you want to represent the US, I’m good with that! I think it’s funny that we have some people from Australia and NZ come here and work with our coaches and top riders. Especially in the past. We all benefit from sharing information. If someone chooses to stay and become a citizen, what’s the issue?

I think we had a stellar Olympics!
