Ordered some today from Valley Vet for my mare who I believe has intense hindgut ulcers. I haven’t scoped, however she’s extremely sensitive to her flank being touched and very girthy. Coliced for the first time on Halloween. This is my first time treating for ulcers, sucraflate will…do the trick right? When should I see improvement? TIA!
I definitely saw an improvement when my vet suggested sucralfate. I think it only took about 4-5 days before I noticed a difference. Just keep in mind that it needs to be given three times a day on an empty stomach for best results.
