On Sunday I’m taking Maria Canela ~____(> in her very first event and my first event in at least 5 years! …>…>…We’re going in the teeny tiny division (no canter required) because our canter still morphs into a dolphin buck that exceeds the boundries of the dressage ring, plus there will be many dangerous flags stuck everyplace. But I can’t wait.

But MLC did snoop around about this trainer. Turns out the MLC’s vet used to work for said owner/breeder/trainer and vouched for trainer’s integrity. MLC breathed big sigh of relief. Of course, MLC’s vet wants to see MLC with many OTTBs so he can rake in big bucks.

NOT A CHANCE! I do admire the TB but I am a QH gal. Gets me there in one piece even though usually at the end of the line.

Not that I don’t like OTTBs, or any TB for that matter, but I find them too tall. I like my feet dragging near the earth, the better to execute a rapid dismount when necessary. :lol:

Plus there is the added bonus’ of:
easier to get in the saddle should you need to from the ground

and

less distance to add G-force should you have an ‘unplanned dismount’

My lesson went very well!! I CAN remember how to ride!!!:D:yes: It was my first lesson with new trainer but it wasn’t as awkward as I thought it might be. The horse I rode was quite different than my horse. It felt so good to jump and ride again.

Just popping in to see if everyone can jingle for my mom. She went in for hip replacement surgery this AM. The surgery went well, but she had a heart attack in recovery. She had stints put in two arteries via angioplasty early this afternoon. This was a big shock, she passed the cardiac check prior to surgery.

She is doing as well as can be expected. She is currently in the CC Unit and is hurting pretty badly.
