Sweeping barn aisles: alternatives?
That Hoover sweeper is also sold on Amazon and Home Depot, so if you check those sites, there are more reviews. Some talk about it needing to be a pretty smooth surface so not sure how it will work with pavers (since they have the grooves between) and lots of comments on how loud it is.
Should be delivered from Amazon by Friday. We have a big-deal clinic next week, so I hope it works well as we clean and polish the whole place.

Ooooo - Can’t wait to hear how the sweeper works out for you keysfins! Keep us posted, please!

Make sure you sprinkle with a watering can to keep down the dust so the horses aren’t breathing it. If you add a tiny bit of pine sol to the sprinkling can your barn will smell delightful.
This is what I do. I blow out my aisle am/pm but never with horses in the aisle. Everyone in the stalls is used to it (in the am, they hear it b/c they’re inside under the fans, in the evening after the last chores, they’re outside so don’t care anyway). After blowing out the aisle, I walk up down the aisle with a watering can 1/2 water, 1/4 pine sol and the barn looks and smells so good! I also keep pine sol handy to put on “poo spots” on the concrete and scrub them in so that the poo doesn’t stain as badly or attract flies.

I love a freshly blown/pine sol sprinkled aisle!

With hard, rubber pavers would a pressure washer be an alternative?
Or even a hose? Not sure how well it would work in the cracks of rubber pavers but I prefer hosing to sweeping as it rinses the dust away rather than fluffing it up. But I have somewhere when good drainage and a plentiful water supply.

The Hoover Spin Sweep works great, however, it is not designed for more than very light use. The gear drives get hot and wear out quickly and the drive wheels also wear smooth and lose traction. We went through several before finally giving up and going back to the broom.

How does that Hoover work? Pros/Cons? Would love an update!!

Billy Goat vacuum. Very expensive, worth every penny. The problem with the leaf blower is that it just throws everything in the air. The Billy Goat picks it up in a bag which can be taken out and emptied.

It saved many many hours of hand labor.
Me too!! I love, love my BG!. I can vacuume as many times a day as needed, aisle are always spotless and no dust in the air or on stall grates.
