Synergist saddles and other trail/endurance options

LOL ok rmh, I’m sorry, I mistunderstood your post  The internet is darned hard to communicate over isn’t it!

I’m also glad to hear I’m not the only one that experienced such horrid pain from that saddle. It was so bizarre. I do have very prominent seat bones and get sore in any kind of flat seated saddle with little to no cushioning, but dang that was bad.

The Abetta endurance is here. I’ll be trying it tomorrow. Hope it works as my saddle buying bug is back.

Happy riding,
Jessie and the Stinky Pony aka Bosco

Good luck!

(I am anxiously awaiting a saddle to show up on Tuesday to try out, but it is more an english style endurance  )

You may want to look at the Specialized Saddle. I have one I’m selling in the classified section. I loved it but I want to do dressage with my new mare and I need to sell it to afford a dressage saddle.

Even if you don’t buy mine, lots of endurance riders like the Specialized, it’s great b/c you can adjust it to fit many horses. I find it very comfortable. They are hard to find used but sometimes come up on the endurance.net classified site.

This is an old post but wanted to comment that the company probably wanted you to “oil” the saddle because that is how one makes a slick saddle soft and grippy. Our trainer who is an eventer taught me that trick. Makes one stick like Velcro. Also, sometimes it takes changing one’s riding position/stirrup length to suit a new saddle. My Synergist felt odd until I learned to ride with my legs centered—I hadn’t realized I’d become accustomed to riding in a bit of a chair seat. Once I straightened out my own posture, the saddle feels marvelous. (I have the English DDS model but they are all built pretty much the same.)

anyhoo—just wanted to balance some bad experiences with my own good one.

Cheers!
