Really??? I was being facetious but ok then LOL
I think I am the only whipper in in our hunt who doesn’t haul tacked up, I just never have because I have a minimum hour and a half drive to get there and feel like she should be comfy too back there. And she stands quietly etc so it isn’t an issue.
But I don’t think twice about the people who do do it, the ones I know who do are experienced competent horsemen and wouldn’t do it if it couldn’t be done safely.
With my luck, I would be the one person who got their saddle flap ripped off or some such thing
We ship our horses tacked every hunt.
It’s so nice to have a well lit aisle and a little protection from the elements while grooming & tacking up. (I hunt in northern Vermont and yes it has already snowed here!)
My horses ship 1 1/2 hours in their saddles. I have never had an issue.
It’s always hectic at the meet… people looking for a release form to sign, someone needing assistance parking a big rig, staff meeting 30 minutes before hounds depart. Tacking up is one less thing that needs doing.
