Just thought I would update this thread to say the clinic was a big success (incase anyone stumbles across this in a similar situation)! Definitely laughing at myself for underestimating my horse and myself. Not only did she calm down shortly after we arrived but she performed very well and the clinician was super impressed with her. She loaded in a straight load trailer for her first time ever and was able to overcome her irrational fear of donkeys due to some little burros that were wandering the property and for some reason singled out my horse to follow around and stuck around her like glue.
I think I’ve now learned the best way to build confidence is just to take the leap and do the big scary thing
