I ended up going and trying on a few pairs and actually found ones that fit nicely pretty quickly!! Now just to break them in 
Any tips on that? Thanks for everyone’s advice!
i had a pair of field boots custom made and they were three layers thick in the heel and toe and maybe even thicker along the rest of the foot…however many layers though, omg, impossible! So i gave them to a teenage WS to break them in for me. About 6 months later they came back, well worn, in dire need of cleaning, but finally wearable by me.
