Talk me down - bone bruise

Cracked a hip on a tree trunk out hunting. Nine months later-still tender. Ware tree, or wear tree to your sorrow.

Is the splint bone fractured?

We don’t believe so … but horses, right, so I’m not committing to anything until I hear back about the set of rads that was taken today. More angle shots were taken today so between the 2 sets all should be revealed … but horses LOL!

In other news, when I opened her stall door and walked away to grab something she voluntarily took herself out to visit her friends. She hasn’t done that since I first found the injury. (Yes she is spoilt and is allowed to quietly visit the other inmates when there are no other horses in the aisle)

That’s fantastic that she’s feeling better, and seemingly “overnight”. I think that is not uncommon with a whack hard enough. The immediate acute swelling is not just painful, but for some horses, the strange feeling can make them very mechanically lame instead of structurally.
