I would advise cautious optimism–they can backslide a ton when they come off the meds.
I did hear that, but he’s been off meds for ten days now so I’m letting myself be optimistic. I rode him for the first time today and he felt amazing! Well, as amazing as a pokey walk can be lol. I’ll still be taking it very slow with him.

Very happy to read this update !!! You and your horse have now entered the long saga of those who have journeyed through EPM, the questions, the diagnosis, the treatment, the daily assessment … congrats on a successful outcome! 
Thanks for documenting and sharing with us your experience. I don’t think any 2 cases are the same but it’s good to hear what others go through. Good luck and I wish for your horse to have good health in the future.
