I find it ironic that Sophie now is not into being a trail horse – what a silly pony! She used to be so good! See, the problem is, now you have her doing all of the exciting stuff, like jumping, and she just isn’t interested in a boring ole trail ride (in her mind).

My OTTB became one of the best trail horses I’ve ever ridden. He didn’t star at the track, but left sound and he always had a willing and happy “let’s try it” attitude. It took about 3 years to get him solid on the trails and then he was rock solid. Hang in there, OTTB’s are smart and sensitive, your guy will figure it out!
