No reserve?

Interesting choices, I don’t think any of us could have predicted this team though, it was going to be random either way I think. yay for Mike!

Colleen just posted, she is the travelling reserve!

Lindsay and Dreamy are second (non traveling) reserve. We’ve known for a couple days. Very disappointing but everyone at the barn is still 100% Team Dreamy.

Exciting! Glad they selected Jess as she usually delivers. I would swap Bobo out for Dreamy for consistency reasons but alas…I am not a selector

I can help being curious if the team was changed upon appeal, and if so, who was originally selected.

As far as I know, it is not publicly reported unless it goes to the Sports Tribunal, but it is not confidential information.

I have no inside intel but if I were to bet, I’d say that Dreamy was there instead of Bobo or Freedom…

Holy crap! It took my eye a minute there to figure out what was going on with the horse. Thank you for sharing this. I’m sorry you witnessed it but wow, what a throwback.

I was joking to my niece who was standing there, this would be bad news if your horse chipped in. It looks to me like he did.

Appeals were unsuccessful. Team did not change from the original.

LadyB with the tea!

Interesting stuff, but I’m happy with this team. We are going to rock it over there :canada::canada::canada:

I believe it was only one appeal.

Thank you for sharing this! Even though there are probably valid reasons for some appeals, knowing that the team wasn’t won through appeals makes it easier to cheer for them!

OK, there is a new blurb about Boyd packing for Paris on FB. He said he was packing for TWO horses. I thought there was stabling for 4. I know he and Will have two, but are they both going? How would that work? If something happened to Bruno, say, after Dressage, woud he be able to ride Commando? Wouldn’t it revert to Liz?

Boyd & Will’s backup horses + Sydney & QC Diamantaire travel to the training camp in France but won’t actually go to the games.

Don’t quote me on this, but I think with the direct reserves they can sub in their 2nd horse right up until the start of the event. But I don’t think they can switch horses mid-competition.

If there isn’t enough stabling at the actual Olympic venue, I’m sure it’s easy to arrange something nearby for the direct reserve horses.

ETA: didn’t see @Benchmark’s response. Nevermind!

I’m sure the direct reserves will stay on and do some other event. That’s the benefit of it being somewhere like France as opposed to like China.
