OK, so does anyone use boots over shoes? My husbandās horse has shoes all around, but he still will not ride him on rocks because he used to be a shoer and he is convinced the horse is going to damage a coffin bone. The horse cannot go without shoes - heās really tender-footed and our terrain is about as hard as it comes (I wear my shoes to razor sharp points in 7 weeks). I was thinking about suggesting boots over the shoes for his horse when we trail ride over the rocks, but Iāve never heard anyone doing thatā¦
What about using leather pads under the shoes? Or vettec?

Thatās probably a better solution LOL. Donāt know why that didnāt occur to meā¦
I have popped original easy boots over shoes some years ago for a repeat loop of a 100 where my horse was ouchy on the unexpected rocks there.
Vetted through, popped the boots on, rode the loop (all good this time!) then peeled them off again at the vet check when I knew the trail was going to be less rocky.
But yes, Iād sure prefer to have vet-tech or other pads in advance, just for general lack of hassle.
Some of the EasyBoots are made to be able to go over shoes. I know the Renegades are not though.
you can boot over shoes but it will void your warranty on your easy boots, The ladies that I ride with (A wild bunch!) use the easyboot epics and are moving to the renegades. We ride through tons of stuff deep deep mud, rocks, swim in rivers, and if the boots fit, they stay. One of the reasons theyāre loving the renegades is because of how easy they are to put on.
A note on the old macs, I had wanted a pair but if you look on their website they specifically say their not for distance riding, They would probably work for the OP but as far as endurance is concerned I wouldnāt use themā¦ just my .02
