tell me about your solutions to the helmet with a "packed down" lining

Thanks again! Compromise . . . I will pad it for now, and begin saving for a new helmet.

I took my CO Pro II along to Rolex last year. The CO reps used a strip of foam with adhesive on one side to help the fit. I think the double sided foam tape would work, too. They helped me try a new one as mine is coming up on 3 years old but said I was not in need of one right now.

However, there are good deals on CO’s on TOTD this week.

I use the foam insulation that is used to line air conditioners. It might be weather stripping–not sure of the exact name. It comes in different widths and thicknesses and works great!

Charles Owens are on sale right now.

I think I’d have an easier time replacing my helmets if there were an easier way to recycle old helmets. (And I don’t mean “turn them into flowerpots” recycling.) As a result I keep accumulating these old helmets b/c I hate knowing they’ll just take up more landfill space. :p[/QUOTE]

I’m very good about replacing mine but I totally second this! It feels horrible just tossing it in the trash (chin strap cut off) knowing it’ll live in a landfill for a billion years.
