Tell me your opinions on Aiken, SC vs. Camden, SC in regards to living on a horse farm.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who avoids such places. People wonder why we live where we do. If the ground falls out from beneath someone, it doesn’t take much for them to at least get a roof over their head. I’d rather live in a place like that than a place where the homelessness and despair makes everyone anxious. I visit family in that sort of place and I hate the feeling.

I love Aiken so very biased. We moved here about 3 years ago and love it. There is a great showing scene here - we literally show 3-4x a month. Sandy soil = no mud. I find something fun every week in Aiken (non-horse related). COL is reasonable, esp if you are not dependent on finding a job - that was my only challenge here as no corp type work and it takes a loooong time to build up a horse business. Camden is a lot smaller, a lot less going on as far as social activities and definitely less horse shows.I also love we’re 2 hours away if I want to get away to the beach or mountains.
