I have a tens unit when I had surgery on shoulder and was wondering if I could use this on my horse she has bowed tendons. If so where should I put the patches at and how should I keep attaching them because of the hair?
This is not TENS - it works on the cellular membrane level, facilitating the transport of ions in and out. It’s small and not an instant miracle. You cannot feel it working at all. I used it on myself for a deep bruise lower back (I landed on my cell phone…). REALLY helped. Many friends use it on their horses for specific issues. https://microlief.com/
I have used my TENS on my horses, some love it, some don’t care for it. You need a gel to make the patches stick. I use a soreness liniment gel.
However, since the unit works on muscles, I’m not sure it would have any effect on the ligiments. It would be like hooking it up to your Achilles’ tendon. You might not feel it at all, or it might be kind of painful.
Fascinated by this, I’d been wanting to get one for myself and wondering if I can get one that I could use on my mare too, help her tight/spasming muscles.
