THANK YOU LEXINGTON: The "I had a blast at WEG" thread

I went with my daughter and a friend, we had an absolutely wonderful time. Loved having breakfast at Sam’s (kept us going till dinner), went to Keeneland on Saturday, went primarily for the jumping on the final weekend but went to vaulting since it was there and thoroughly enjoyed that. This is the first time we have been to any WEG, but are definitely scheming about how to get to Normandy in 2014! This was also my first time in Lexington KY, all the locals we met were friendly and helpful, horse farms were gorgeous. As Arnold says, we’ll be back!

Got me all teary eyed. Beautiful!!!

A friend & I came from Nova Scotia to watch the Eventing and had a great time! Stayed at the Hilton downtown and were able to travel back & forth on the free shuttle (with the Irish team members!). Everyone was super friendly and helpful at the WEGs grounds and we enjoyed every minute. Lots of great outdoor concerts were happening in the evenings downtown (yahhh Blues guy DJ Rice!).

Of course, it helped that Canada won the Silver!!

Girl, if you haven’t eaten some good, stone ground, low country, shrimp and grits, you missed out. You’ll just have to come on back sometime :)[/QUOTE]
I know what I’m having for lunch tomorrow! (Granted I am now in NC, but there’s a restaurant here that makes GREAT shrimp and grits!)

And to keep it horse related, I get to see my 2yo now that I’m home from WEG!!
