My warmblood, who was pretty rough and tumble, wore a Weatherbeeta Orican medium weight for several years and it still looks brand new (except a small wear spot on the inside at the shoulder, and he did remove the elastic leg straps at some point). I had it professionallly cleaned each year, which I think helped it hold up so well.
I have an Amigo Bravo with attached hood, and I love that blanket. Keeps mare nice and toasty, seems comfy on her shoulders, and stands up to rolling and shenanigans.
