The *best* hoofpick for ice?+hacks

A traditional Ice pick! My horse has wedged eggbutt bar shoes with a leather pads so her hoof snowballs are terrible. The ice pick is the only thing that really works when it’s deeply stuffed and frozen solid.

I have 2 horses that are shod all the way around. Rim snow pads, or a hammer. A tap with the hammer in the right location and it pops right out. If the tap doesn’t do it, the claw end grabs the snowball and releases it.

I have ave a pony that is barefoot, but still gets snowballs. He gets the same treatment as the shod horses, a tap of the hammer and if needed the claw end of the hammer.
