The "Bring Chrome Home" crowd is batty, but...

The “Caption this” post is classic. I highly recommend it. "
Almost like the final scenes from TITANIC when the lifeboat was looking for survivors…"

Where is this “green, green California grass” they speak of? I’m in CA and I see brown grass and dirt!

The Caption This comments on the Taylor Made page are entertaining and bizarre… yikes!

Aren’t they?

Wow, did things escalate quickly.

On the ‘caption this’ picture, I wanted to put ‘Can’t you see I’m ignoring all you crazies? Leave me alone.’

I bet when Taylor Made put up the “caption this” they never imagined they would get some of the posts that are on there. People are way beyond nutso in some of those comments they have made. You have to wonder what they have been drinking or smoking. Taylor Made is so far above this shit, I give them credit for posting anything having to do with Chrome. A class act meets the riff raff!

This morning, one of the Chromies wondered if Chrome injured his leg from running in the opposite direction while in Britain.

And now the principles of bone remodeling are misunderstood and misconstrued by the main poster.

One of the things they like to moan about is Chrome’s hard life. The horse is 4, he may have to work as a 5 year old and then he will be sent to stud. That is a pretty great life (provided nothing tragic happens in a race). How lucky is he that at the age of 5, when most sport horses are at the very beginning of careers that will last for 10-20 more years, he will be retired! Seriously, its not a hard knock life. I’ve checked out some of their profiles and some of the BCH people actually own horses! But they are still so clueless. Kind of frightening.

Yep they frighten me too. Way too much anthropomorphic for me. And questions like…when can he visit with his horse friends…send me spinning. And Arlington in the bush leagues. Some serious lack of reading comprehension and real world knowledge. It is like they all believe in unicorns…

People just don’t know much about horses. As I said earlier on this thread I think I actually had people lamenting over why I didn’t turn my then three year old colt out with his dam and suckling half sibling when I took him home from the track for some layup. They had a Lifetime Movie in their minds not Wild Kingdom.

People just don’t know much about anything…

I was wondering if I lacked reading comprehension when I read the synopsis of Dr. Bramlage’s talk and did not remember him saying anything about Chrome’s returning to the track was a virtual death sentence. I particularly liked the statement that someone thought he should have been retired after the Derby. Also, it seems that until he went to Taylor Made that nobody fed him correctly, including the Great God Sherman.

For the record, I think he had a lovely vacation in England and had a year of leisure that most horses would envy–even if he did have to fly home in a metal crate.

The “Bring Chrome Home” crowd is batty, but…

mht, I addressed that concern to the fan (and my post was promptly removed). It was not the first time.

A week or so earlier, BCH also mentioned (incorrectly) about Chrome’s extensive training in a direction he is not familiar with. I posted to clarify that Chrome had only galloped once in the clockwise direction (under rider Frankie Dettori on June 4th with Alan Sherman and Raul in attendance at Ascot race course, the trainer and groom having just arrived in the UK the day before). It was not an offensive explanation in any way and entirely neutral. It brought a denigrating reaction from BCH that began with an accusation that ‘Alan Sherman was NOT there on June 4th.’ I then posted links (but no personal comment) to three websites that correlated with the information. One link from the Ascot race course’s own website had the video of the workout along with Frankie’s and Alan’s comments and prospects for the race. My post was removed.

I wonder if “Taylor Farm” is starting to regret acquiring “Chromie” because of the crazy fans!!! I bet there is no fan day! LOL![/QUOTE]

I don’t think there will be a Fan Day scheduled. Chrome is likely to be in Los Alamitos by the third week in September.

They could be ‘frightening’ but are mostly frustrated attention-seekers. I know someone who posted a civil comment over on BCH and was verbally attacked followed by nuisance emails to their personal account with the usual name-calling insults on the verge of threatening.

BCH previously encouraged a gang-frenzy mentality of insult-bombing the Martins over social media after the Taylor Made acquisition and appeared to gloat to each other afterwards to share their cathartic ranting. The Martins took down that website shortly after. They punctuate their entries with language you certainly would not utter in church. Do they really think this is effective for them in a ‘good’ way??? The bizarre irony is that their fans who post the most negative things to the Martins then turned up on his site and others acting like angels to glean Chrome information (since they can only rely on the ridiculous speculations by the administrator for their latest Chrome news). Where does she even dream up her ideas???

The latest eye-rolling statement she has posted is: ‘this page (BCH) exists because of the continual lies, twisted facts, and half-truths coming from the other side since the whole thing started.’ Could there be anyone more in utter denial?

My personal favorite in relatively recent posts is one poster asking:

I’m assuming they have security when he is out?

And BCH responding:

I sure hope so! thats a good point, I would think he does but we’ll have to check on that.

It was very hard to not respond something along the lines of “hellz yeah with you nutbags running loose I’m sure they do”. Seriously, they’ll have to check on that?

I think Taylor Made has other horses worth far more than Chrome running around in their paddocks.

Someone should remind them that in 5, 6, or so years they will be seeing little Chrome Juniors popping up on the CANTER websites, so they should begin saving their pennies.

Reading this thread has been more than entertaining.

I just keep wondering how these people locked onto CC and not some other horse… say AP who’s been crammed into the same metal crates over and over as he crisscrosses the country pursing just the perfect race. Maybe it is because his pony gets to travel with him and he’s not family or feed deprived…?

Oh, dear, don’t give them any ideas!
