The "Bring Chrome Home" crowd is batty, but...
Do they realize they can’t buy him if he’s not for sale? If I were Perry Martin I wouldn’t sell to those clowns for any sum of money.
Besides, he’s already owned in partnership with Taylor Made and several prominent breeders. They sure as hell won’t sell.
My god, I thought it was fantastic that we didn’t have to see the antics of Steve Coburn. Perry Martin was there, walked over to the railing of the saddling paddock before the horses came out to talk to a few fans, but he wasn’t carrying on like some looney toon.

I think Kerri Farrands need to keep her damn typing fingers quiet (and mouth shut) if she wants to persist in shoving her spawn in front of the Sherman’s and co. It’d be as if I were out there bad mouthing one of O’Neill’s owners (who are all lovely people by the way, the ones that I’ve met anyway) on social media, but going kissy-kissy to the horses. Being able to get up close and personal with horses is a privilege, not a right, and you damn well don’t earn that privilege by slandering and maligning owners.
Kerri visits Los Al dragging her young child out in the dark at 5:30AM in 48 degree weather to watch Chrome exercise (they are visible in posted videos). Wonder why she does not broadcast her desire to launch a protest demonstration during her visits? She is famous for bringing a large ‘cookie’ for Chrome to consume on his birthday last year, but the story around is that she is banned by the trainers from coming to the barn now. She is another Coburn schmoozer. It’s surprising to see her lambast Martin lately over his weight. She herself would not be described as ‘slim’ by any means.

It’s incredible to see certain BCH members rant against the horse’s connections on the website, then cross over to a different, ‘positive’ Chrome site to do a ‘Jekyll-and-Hyde’ personna. Surprising that no one has ‘called them out’ for doing so.
Utterly clueless morons.
Guess the indignant witless have not realized that Chrome received the same Penny Chenery-generated award last year (and that now it is AP’s turn). The apparently miffed-Ms BCH vows that there should have been ‘Chrome come-back’ posters at Santa Anita that day (completely oblivious that Taylor Made handed out free color posters that were grabbed like hotcakes by the eager fans).
Oh my. I can see it now…
They could keep him in the back yard and teach him tricks! Or let him “run free”, never to be able to put a halter on him again without being seriously injured.

I suppose there is nothing wrong with having a fantasy…though I do think that sort of thing is mostly in the purview of 10 year old children.
And stuff him to the gills with ‘cookies.’

One BCH member is bemoaning that the post-race after-party was just ‘not the same’ without the Coburns. Yes, thankfully, they’ve been photographed more than once with a tipple in their hands.

I know, right!

I remember being there last year and getting my print signed. And nary a gasp or outcry that it would have been upstaging poor Hoppertunity.

Oh man, I was mad! We walked all over the track trying to find where they were giving away the Chrome poster, I thought it’d look great in between Shared Belief and I’ll Have Another since my study is decorated with racing memorabilia. One of our friends even walked out to the infield to find out, and when we finally tracked down the tent, they had “just given away the last one”

Um, obviously they would buy his sire, dam, and brothers and sisters and reunite the whole family! Like they were hoping would happen when he came back from England. Because that would end well.

It’s hilarious how the people on The Coburns of Hope’s Love’s FB page continue to gush fervently about how Steve and Carolyn are Chrome’s ‘mom and dad’ and how they ‘raised him’ and will always be his ‘true connections’.

Moronic gits.

:lol::lol::lol:

Just waiting for them to start whining about the “horrible metal box” and “cargo” again.

This^^^^. Yep I’m sure that is coming soon. Grab the popcorn and sit back for the ride LOL:eek:

I was just thinking about the same thing. However, since the plane ride is courtesy of Sheik Mo and not Martin, I’ll bet you won’t hear a peep out of them – because THIS (probably an exact replica, LOL) is for horses. Perhaps they are visualizing the reclining seat/bed and constant champagne from the people plane ads.

Regarding the lip chain controversy, I remember in one of Sherman’s interviews (can’t remember which one) he was remarking on how Chrome has become rather studdy, and spends more of his time “on two legs” than he used to when he was a mere teenager.

You will probably hear the outcry that Raul is not with the horse en transit with Martin taking the blame for it (when the policy of the flight is that the personnel is provided for already).

One BCH fan claims that she has been around stallions for years and never used a chain. She’s either a liar or a person who has been extremely lucky (and hope it doesn’t unfortunately run out one day).

Probably one stallion, definitely an extremely docile one, and almost certainly not a Thoroughbred! I spent a lot of time around a Welsh pony who was honestly more gelding than stallion - you could stick him on a trailer with a bunch of mares and trail ride him with them all day (with a little kid on his back) and he was a perfect gentleman. You really can’t claim stallion experience off of a stallion like that one, but I’m willing to bet that’s the situation. People don’t understand that racehorses, like top show horses, are honestly nearly a different animal.

I’m pretty amused that they’ve all turned around from “his heart isn’t in racing anymore” to “he’s the best racehorse ever, I knew he would win!”. Somebody’s telepathic connection needs to be checked for errors

If he’d lost, Martin would’ve just been the greedy, mustachioed villain twirling his mustache while he rolled in a pile of cash and horse carcasses, and poor Chromie his latest victim. I can’t say that he appears to be an easy man to work with, but neither is Coburn, I don’t think (for different reasons).

I would pay some big bucks to see most of these people deal with anyhorse who isn’t a complete saint (under supervision of course!). My smart old pony mare would set them straight in seconds.

One person has stated on BCH that ‘‘It’s probably time to consider removing the post on Oct 30 that reported ‘the word around Los Alamitos is that Chrome’s heart isn’t in racing any more’ (and take any future info they provide about Chrome with a grain of salt).’’

[You can scroll down to the post in that time frame.] Remember, Chrome only arrived at Los Alamitos from KY on Oct 13th for training, and an individual or (individuals) came to the conclusion that he was unenthusiastic or showed a lack of progress? After 17 days???

Perhaps another unfortunate individual with common sense is about to get the axe from the website?

Well!!! I have to say that I have been lurking and reading/re-reading this entire thread and I still get a huge giggle from it. (Especially “!!!1!!” for some reason  )

Don’t stop please!
That meme they posted about the look on his face “when Martin says I’m going back to Dubai” priceless. Anthropomorphic much?

Thank you so much for the laughs!

I doubt that any of these people ever approached Martin or his wife. Pretty sure the sale stuff is bogus.
Just like the Coburn bogus purchase of Hope’s Love.

Ms BCH is in for some lonely weeks dreaming up nasty topics since now it’s being said Chrome will return from his seven weeks in Dubai to spend about a month at Taylor Made after clearing Chicago quarantine in early April.

One brave soul mentioned that a chain (used judiciously) might actually contribute to stallion safety. Response was “And you must enjoy your life of cruelty…”

Issue now, is with CC’s “mom”. Love the Chase’s “loneliness” (they can tell from her “look”) since she is at Taylor Made without horsey relatives and apparently without her “BFF”.

Also much consternation over blinker hood “what is that on her face/what is on her head!” as well as issue with her being turned out with no other horses in view ; (sic) “can’t she be with other horses? why does she have to be alone.poor sweetheart.not kind.”

This, it seems, may be the answer to the question; what are these folks going to do during the absence of CC? What will they do without something to freak out about ? Implode?

Why,of course not! They will transfer their obsession with CC to his dam and siblings. How could I have doubted the tenacity (and relatively short attention span) of the truly obsessed.

June Glick Chrome has her nice disposition !!!

AHAHAHAHA!!! Not that I wanna know what kind of sh*t she’s on, because I don’t need it, but really?

“Nice”? Chrome? I’ve heard tell from someone who’s visited him that he’s a biter.

And still persisting in using the names the Coburns prefer, no surprise there

Can you imagine if Love the Chase is sold after being bred to Tapit? They will be overcome with grief. :grief:
