The Case of the Shivering Dog

We LOVE Foggy Mountain Dog Coats:

Our JRT has one of the wool/fleece lined horse blanket types. Has kept her warm in some bitter winters. She doesn’t like clothes in the house, so I just put a blanket over her when she’s in her bed, or you can buy one of those beds they “burrow” in to.

Wonderful! The Foggy Mountain is the type I think the WonderJack will tolerate! I, too, tuck him in/under blankets due to his hatred of clothing. I may look into the burrow-bed… Thank you!

ETA: the turnout coat - still think the snuggler coat would give him fits!

I’d suggest staying away from any coats that fasten with Velcro, particularly if there is a front strap that relies on it. They don’t last and tend to come off unexpectedly.[/QUOTE]

I have never had this problem. My dog had a whole wardrobe of winter horse style blankets and none of them had a problem with the velcro randomly coming undone.

I have with the Papillons. But Nikki has a LOT of coat and her hair will stick well to the loop part of the velcro. That was why I went to making her clothes so I could use buttons and button holes so the hair will slip back out of the button holes.

My dog is a mini aussie with fairly long top coat, and I have never had a problem with the velcro. I just leave the chest part velcroed at the place that fits her and slip it over her head and then do up the belly strap. She runs around alot at the barn and we have never had blanket failure. Her is a picture of her in her Equine Couture blanket. http://www.flickr.com/photos/simbalism/6689100637/ Ok, I am loving the hot pink Foggy Mountain dog blanket. Why did I have to open the link…hehe.
