The Cost of Hock injections

For 2 horses where I’m from that is right inline. I pay close to $1,000 for neck injections (4 locations, 2 on each side), imaging, sedation, etc. For just hocks I was quoted $750 as a baseline.

I need to move out to where some of you guys are!

I’m sorry, but that is funny!

I paid roughly $700 for both hocks and x-rays and I thought that was crazy!

That’s high to me. My guy used to get his done every 6 month to the tune of $350 for both hocks, lower joint only. Essentially no farm call because it was split so many ways. Included the cost of sedation.

I paid $698 which included a full lameness exam, sedation, 3 injections (middle & lower on LH, lower on RH - $538 of the total was for injections alone), and antibiotics. I didn’t pay a farm call since it coincided with the farm’s spring shots clinic, but that would have been an extra $58. I’m NW of Boston, so in a higher-cost area. I think what you paid for 2 horses sounds pretty reasonable if they each had two injections in each hock.

With a farm call, lameness exam, and hock injections (high and low, inner and outer of both hocks), I’ve generally paid $900-1000. For ONE horse. I’d be thrilled with $1600 for two!

I know that that’s in line with what my best friend pays in NH for her horse to be done
