The Decision to go Hackamore/bitless
I couldn’t quite tell from your pics but you put your rein on the headstall piece?
Sure be nice if I could just use my nice bridle for her.
Just the noseband. Take the noseband off; attach your reins around the caveson part on top of where the slots go/where the piece is sewn that goes back around the head. Put fuzzy on top if you want, this holds the reins in place very well too. You can put a browband on the noseband if you want; I rarely do. It stays in place pretty well without. I adjust just a tiny bit lower than usual, 2 fingers but a real 2 fingers, I often have mine higher than that when they aren’t being functional. Ride!

(you can just leave the rest nicely in the barn, to await dressage days. your crownpiece and cheekpieces, and browband if you don’t use it.)

Fordtraktor: You are both bitless AND saddleless in the second photo, no?
Pretty cool!

Thanks, yes, he was the coolest pony ever and I was young and brave. You won’t find any recent photos of me doing that!
