The Old Habit in Marshall Closing

Closing date

Has anyone heard of an official closing date yet. I figured I’d call one more time on the green tailcoat and see if they were ready to really make a deal before they close.

I was in there Saturday picking up some consignment stuff and Gillian told me they would be open until everything was gone. She estimated about two more weeks. I was hesitant to buy anything–I am hoping it will get marked down again one more time

A lot of the prices were only 20% to 30% off…and they are a bit pricey to begin with!!

I went by to have a look. I didn’t buy anything. I never realized it, but the only things I was really looking at were their consignment saddles. Their men’s hunting wear doesn’t look as if it has changed much in the six years I’ve been going to the place. I guess it wasn’t selling: and that’s why they have to close down.

I finally bought the gren tailcoat for my husband. It was a little over 40% off but it had been in the store for over 4 years. I hope it fits him. Should arrive this week but we’ll be gone.

Painted Wings, are things marked off more now?? I may have to take a quick trip in there to get some leadline stuff for my little one

I have heard through the “rumor mill” around here that the owner has cancer and that’s why they are closing, but you can’t just go up to Gillian and say “BTW I heard you had cancer is that why you are closing”…

Also, there is a small english/western consignment shop in Warrenton called The Galloping Grape that’s worth checking out for their saddles (currently Crosby PDN, Stubben Seig., Courbettes, and a really nice Berney Bros. just sold). www.GallopingGrape.com
