To mlcoursin re Trakehner mare inspections
I just checked the American Trakehner website for the 2011 inspection schedule (see www.americantrakehner.com). There are no inspections in Virginia (or Maryland) scheduled this yearā¦at this time. If āenoughā mares can be brought together for an inspection at an approriate site, however, it may be possible to have an additional inspection(s). This info comes from the ATA website. I donāt know how many mares would be āenoughā. I had my mare inspected about 4 years ago at a farm in Maryland and there were 6 or 7 mares. But, Iāve seen some reports of inspections where there were only 4 mares. I donāt know what the minium number is. You might consider contacting the ATA office (call them up, Iāve always found them nice, and helpful). Contact info is on the website.

OK! So, I have a foal coming, too, after all these years!
I finally decided to breed my Trakehner mare, Amulette (by Unkenruf out of Ada by Enrico Caruso). Sheās been bred to the Trakehner Veneziano (Guter Stern/Amagun). Last week she passed the 14-day milestone! Hopefully, sheāll pass the 30-day check next week and the 45-day check, too! I wonāt feel at all easy until after the 45-day check! I will be in the nail-biting stage until then!!
This will be Amuletteās first foal, and she was bred with frozen semen. I didnāt know there was any frozen semen for Veneziano available since he died in 1999. Just my luck to learn some was available early this year! I saw him when he was in Virginia, and liked him a lot back then. I was really thrilled to find that he was available, and I think he will be a good cross for my mare.
Tiadora (Tantris - Dachs) was just rebred to Donarweiss after conceiving attached twins in our first attempt. She has two follicles again that look like they are about to ovulate. I hoping if they do, they are separate so that one can be successfully reduced. I really hope that this is the last time I have to breed a mare this yearā¦
One a more relaxing note, Charisma (Contucci - At the Thresholdxx) had a 30 day check and is still in foal to Qredit. Yay! I canāt believe I only have one mare confirmed in foal.
JenRose: Good luck with Cabalito! We have a 4 yr old by Cabalito and he is truly STUNNING! And a good mind, just thought I would say that.
I am joining the 2 week wait with the broodmare I leased for the year, to use my mareās breeding. It has been an awful year so far, so hereās hoping this works out.
Carola (Carolus I/Latino) just checked in foal this am to Catoki. 
Iām SO excited and even more stressed as today is only day 13.
Still waiting on mare #2s check.

Never ever had to reinseminate so many times!!!

Two confirmed w/heart beats (one frozen, one fresh). Each caught on the first tryā¦hoping my luck holds on this last one!
My Holsteiner mare Winter Eve, by Chaka Khan (Cor de la Bryere) was bred to Landkoenig today! This is a repeat cross. She had a lovely Landkoenig colt this year. Fingers crossed!
My KWPN-NA mare was bred to Royal Prince on Tuesday.
