The Two Week Wait Thread!!

Czola checked in foal to CQuito- thank goodness- lots of interest in this as an in utero. Now, just waiting on Ana Bella and Calvados.

We can hardly wait until we have a full slate to report! Should be early next week!

We have our first confirmed pregnancy of the year! Romancing Rio has been checked in foal to Jupiter.
Hopefully breeding 2 more this week.

Well, I am waiting on the last two to get with the program!

Donna Castania(Don Crusador): tried frozen for the second time and will be checked next Tuesday(but already have a bad feeling): she was bred to Lacosto. Semen pretty good, but she was not predictable in her progression- we’ll see. Back to Benidetto if open.

Florabella was rebred to Dacaprio this AM. No infection, just didn’t check in foal at her last 30 day check.

There are certainly some nices crosses coming next year!
Good luck to all waiting.

Congratulations we’ll have… er… related foals! (CQuito here as well~)

I think that we are both in for a BIG treat come eleven months from now- can you send down some Bourbon then? Ours is out of our Alla’Czar mare.

Oh I hope so! Our date should be about May 25 I think, out of my Thoroughbred mare… I can SO send bourbon!

Well I am done with breeding this year. I am 0 for 2 with frozen (1 attempt using Quaterback, and 1 attempt on a different mare using Furstenball. The Furstenball semen looked excellent under the microscope, in case anyone wanted to know). I have a dose of Christ stored with my vet that I just decided I wanted to sell. I am sick of taking risks and having it not work in my favor.

However, my sweet Daniella (Davignon-Garibaldi II) did check in foal to Royal Prince, so that is good news.

I think fresh semen with a LFG is the way to go for me!

I have to share this with Callaway to illustrate how crazy this breeding season has been. Have a three year old Sir Donenerhall/Espri mare in Germany that I bred to Fuerstenball FRESH two times, no pregnancy. Her dam, who has not been bred in three years, was bred to Fuerstenball with frozen…in foal, first try. What is up with that? And it gets better. All the older mares that have been open for three, four and five years got pregnant with Royal Classic, Fuerstenball and Diamond Hit first try. The younger mares I have had to rebreed two and three times. This breeding year has been totally unpredictable. Only thing I can attribute this to is the heat wave we had. The older mares were all bred before the horrible ten day heat wave we had, and the younger mares were bred during the height of the heat wave.

Crosiadore, I have had similar luck (I use that word with disdain ). I was going to blame it on the record heat and drought, but I leased two mares and they were bred at the same time I was having nothing but failures. One is even 19 years old. Can you guess? They are both pregnant. I have given up trying to figure it out.

As I typed that a little voice was telling me to wait and see if she held on. Sigh…

Hoping to breed sweet Püppi back to Don Schufro tomorrow. Thank goodness we are dealing with fresh.[/QUOTE]

Here’s hoping that 7/7/2011 is a very lucky date for you (and Kareen does her magic!).

Fingers crossed!!

Just got
Saluut II/Merano/Landgraf/Consul stamm 6085 mare confirmed to Quinar yesterday. One more to go…she is being difficult this year…Sigh

Thanks, Jan. I have all faith in the German side of things.

We have a Hohenstein Pregnancy!!!

Okay, really excited right now, BUT gotta still wait for that heartbeat check! Colleen is pregnant to Hohenstein!!! Doin my happy dance!

I’m in the, well, one week wait I guess. Frozen embryo transfer yesterday - Ferro x Zeoliet.

Just bred my mare Cor-Ageous to Wild Dance yesteerday. The two week wait begins. Kocida checked in foal to Ariadus for the 18 day check!

I’m too superstitious to post on these types of threads anymore, but suffice it to say you can tell how my breeding year has been by the fact that I’m still breeding my own mares in July…

Well…I went into this saying I’d only try once and really hope for the best. So I bought one dose. The awesome woman I bought her from, Shelly, works at a vet clinic. She brought her to work with her on a night shift and timed it perfectly for insemination. She did the deep horn insemination as well. Colleen double ovulated and there is something there that looks like it might be a tiny twin. So we’re going to have her rechecked Monday to see if it’s still there.

I bought it this year, I JUST made the cutoff for putting in an order with Carol @ Superior Equine Sires. So I got it this year with their upped straws. Shelly actually asked if I was brave enough to split the dose:eek:…I wasn’t as brave and said go ahead and use the whole thing. But the mobility was actually decent and if this foal is as nice as I’m praying it is…might try again next year. Now to wrap my girl in bubble wrap until she foals. I’m more nervous about her making the trip from OK than anything else.

Shelly actually emailed Klosterhof Medingen and this is what they said:
“With our new 8 straws per dose freezing method we don´t have any problems to get the mares in foal by frozen semen from Hohenstein.
If you do even the deep horn insemination it should work very well!
It is not good to splitt the dose.”

So maybe more will try next year with good old Hohenstein!?!

Thank god my hubbie doesn’t read this forum. hide the checkbook…you are making this a tempting option to try next year. OMG!! love my “H” girls. Thank you for sharing…or… maybe not :D:yes:

Hidden Acres - the semen is not really expensive - just $1000 per dose at SES.
I am looking forward to pictures next year of some beautifully bred foals.
Congrats to all, with their breeding season complete.
And fingers crossed for the rest (me included - 3 to go) who are waiting on breeding or results.
