Day 13/14 check today & was pleased to discover my Swedish mare Vegas is in foal to Dancier. That was after (accidentally) using only 1/2 a dose pre- and post-ov. The bad news is that the black dot is the size you would expect at 10 days…we’ll see what happens.
Oh exciting. How are your other 2 Catokis?

I am pleased to say that Azalia (Anhaltiner E) was bred to Sir Wanabi 16 days ago and we have an embryo!
First try again. Good girl Azalia! Both mare and foal are sold.
We check Barbarees Hill on Monday. She got bred to Banderas.[/QUOTE]
And Barbarees checked in foal as well.
As I told my partner, the hemorrage is over. A good year two healthy foals and two mares in foal, one on first try, the other on second try (first try was on foal heat so I am ok with that!).
My first ever two week wait. I need some serious hand-holding – pony mare double ovulated within the ideal window for insemination. Textbook perfect, other than the double ovulation, as per the vet. Fingers crossed for a pregnancy, but just one! It is also about a million degrees (aka, extremely hot for my area of the country) here and I’m having an impossible time keeping our horses cool and unstressed. Sigh.
I thought I was done this year…my last two week wait was enough to make me start drinking:winkgrin:. But I got an amazing deal on SPS Diorella. And yesterday she was bred to Benidetto!!! Everything reported to look good. Swimmers looked good and it was timed well. Here we go again!

Actually, it was about 50% motility. My vet said it looked better than the fresh semen she did a few days previous (yikes)! My mare has been bred twice before- once fresh, once frozen (both super high quality) and conceived first try both times. I didn’t know what to expect this time since it was known to be mediocre semen but here we are
I bought 2 doses as we were planning to put in a full dose pre- and post-ov. Now I have an extra and no way to store it long term- anybody know where to advertise frozen for sale?
Yeah!! Black dot on the ultrasound!! Taking a small breath and waiting for that heartbeat

Congratulations to you HuntrJumpr! how exciting!
Well, my two week wait got extended.
Bred my Crown Heartbreaker pony mare to Highlife’s Bodyguard.
Timing seemed perfect, all went well. two weeks and an ultrasound finds nothing.
Go to try again but there is no follicle development? Check uterus, can’t see a black dot? UHG!
Oh, happy day—we are DONE! Ana Bella has tested positive for her Calvados foal at the 14 day mark. This gives us a full house-
Julia du Brio positive for Contendro I due in April fetal sexed as a filly
Kaiserin positive for Carolus II due in April
Czola positive for CQuito due in June
Ana Bella positive for Calvados due in June.
This seemed to be a long, hot and overly eventful breeding season- too many repeats. But all’s well that ends well. Thanks due to Andrea, the repro vet extraordinaire Corey and the “ladies” of course. Not to overlook the lads either!

We also have a 3rd mare confirmed for 2012: St.Pr. Destemona by De Niro is in foal to Fidertanz!!
Showjumper - I love your Valeta - such a lovely mover.
Well, I had good news today.
Contessa (Contendro - Eiger/Wenzel) confirmed 15 days in foal to Sir Donnerhall.
Already confirmed:
SPS Ester (Eiger / Wenzel) to Rubignon, now about day 60. and
After Hours (Autocrat - Eiger/Wenzel), now about 45 days in foal to Romanov (so exciting!).
I’m in the 14 day wait for SPS Ditana (Don Bosco / Prince Orac xx), 3rd breeding this year, this time an attempt with Wolkentanz II.
Ellie, who has given so much difficulty, I hope to breed this coming weekend (4th attempt this year, after no success last year) to Sir Gregory.
That’s it. Last chance for Di and Ellie. Fingers crossed, of course.
We also have a 3rd mare confirmed for 2012: St.Pr. Destemona by De Niro is in foal to Fidertanz!!
That sounds awesome. Congratulations.
Peggy Sue was checked again at 36 days and has a large Romanov embryo with a heartbeat!
I just got 2 new mares (don’t ask ;)) and bred them both to A Fine Romance last Weds… everything looked good with the one mare, the other mare had an inflammatory response…so we shall see. fingers crossed.
Congrats all! And it looks like there will be a few Romanovs coming:
Fabiola B (Florestan/Paulaner)- heartbeat detected, in foal to
Romanov. Full sibling is a liver chestnut- I hope this
one is also!
Donna Castania has not taken with frozen. Waiting on tests.
Will decide to rebreed this week.
Florabella (Fabuleux/Metternich) 15 day check due this week. Bred to Dacaprio
will be glad when finished!
Now Hopes and Prayers for Safe Terms and Deliveries
We, too, are finished for the 2012 foal adventure. In order of conception and confirmed pregnancy —
Desiderata (DeNiro/Matcho) to Rubenstein
Just For Terry (Roanoke) to Svengali
EM Happy Hour (Hohenstein/Maurice/Wenzel 1) to ES DeNiro
May the Angels and the powers of the universe hold all expectant mares and future foals safely in the palms of their hands . . . . .
