The Two Week Wait Thread!!

Horses are so up and down!

Well we have a heartbeat on the Hohenstein pregnancy…but my mare had a severe case of colic yesterday and had to have surgery…so I’m not celebrating just yet. She is doing well right now and the surgery was deemed successful. But you just never know with horses!

Well we have a heartbeat on the Hohenstein pregnancy…

Who was the broker of the semen? Do you know what batch? We are interested to give a try one day with Hohenstein but fertility of the frozen semen does not have a pretty good reputation.

I got it from Carol @ Superior Equine Sires. She got it this year for me, I just made the cut-off. I’m not sure when it was collected, I’ll have to ask. But with the upped straws in a dosage, I’d give it a try again.

I have 24 hours to wait to do our 14 day check. I am nervous!!!1 I have a feeling IF she took, she twinned - Ava had 2 huge follicles when they inseminated. So of course pinching will be another tense wait.

UGH!

MLC,

Hope all is going well with your mare after the colic surgery and the pregnancy holds!

Yes! I send you and your mare good vibes from up north, we all want to see that baby next year!

Good thoughts from Kentucky for your mare and her little bundle-may they be safe and healthy.

Peg

Thank-you everyone for the jingles. She’s doing very well and still pregnant, so two big sighs of relief on that. She migh go home tomorrow, but monitored closely.

Best wishes for your mare, Michelle. Colic surgery is a tough on them.

UGH - my vets secretary counted TOO FEW days since we bred. He US’d in the 101 degree heat and thinks he sees a blob but didn’t want to confirm just yet since it is still too early. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to confirm. UGH the wait is getting to me whine whine whine

Native Watters aka Two Sox, 15 yr old maiden TB mare, just beginning the third career in her life…motherhood. Confirmed in foal today to Pengwyn (Lister Mister Star x Alliance Artette by Ardmore Artist).

Awaiting our 2-week confirmation date of August 6 - Tresillian is hopefully to be found in foal to Banderas.

Yeah! My German Warmblood/Holsteiner bred mare Mascara (aka Bailey) was confirmed in foal to Sandakan (Sandro Hit/Donnerhall).

continuing to send positive thoughts for your mare and her embryo.

May the Angels and the powers of the universe hold all expectant mares and future foals safely in the palms of their hands . . . . .[/QUOTE]

Amen to that.

Just left the barn after Ellie’s insemination. All “looks” good, with Deslorelen given yesterday afternoon, and oxytocin to start tomorrow.
Such a feeling of lightness, to know it is now all out of my hands.
So, just a check on Ditana in a week, and Ellie in 2+ weeks - and nothing after that.

Our KWPN sport mare, Rilory (Calvados x Ekstein), checked in foal to Contendor (Calypso II) but twinned. One was pinched and we’ll see if she holds on. One more mare to check in the next day or two.

Congrats to all with their breedings. Already excited to see everyones the new additions next spring.

We are now in the 2 week wait with (hopefully) our last…
Falen (Feiner Stern) was bred to Sir Gregory today. HUGE thank-you to Jennifer since I wasn’t expecting the mare to be in heat until early next week and got a last minute, same day collection!

We do a first check on Legacy (bred to Don Alfredo) on Monday, a 30 day check on Romancing Rio (bred to Jupiter) on Monday and a first check on SPS Wega (bred to Balou Du Rouet) on Friday. Here’s hoping for healthy little black dots all around!

Congrats to all who have confirmed pregnancies!
