Yes I d forgotten about the white lightning family of thrush remedies! I understand they are basically chlorine bleach that you make fume in a closed boot or bag so that the fumes get up in there with out exposing the hoof to pure bleach. Clever idea, a bit more trouble to use.
And yes trim and nutrition are just as important as topical treatment
