That overhead shot - airplane or whatever is nice to see how the course is laid out.
He hit the jump, somehow managed to get his feet down in front of him, rubbed his nose on the ground as Amy somersaulted off his back. Could have been VERY bad (stopped my heart for a moment)
I had to laugh though because at the same time Amy fell, the Cdn commentator was saying that she trusted Poggio and that horse could jump anything from anywhere… and off she flew!
We are being treated to a wonderful and complete program. The course is beautiful and the commentators are explaining everything in details…

I read somewhere that the rocks are also used to cover drainage grates.
Loved Mark’s ride, gorgeous. Too bad about Amy - Poggio was clearly having a rare off day. He was dragging her and they had a couple scary fences before the fall! I am so glad they’re ok.
ETA I hope the tough time doesn’t make later riders push too hard as the heat just gets worse…

Let’s all hope that Amy’s fall is the worst accident to happen all day. I am so glad she’s OK. What an unfortunate thing to happen–looked like Poggio just came out of his stall on fire. When someone as strong as Amy has to really haul on him to get his attention you know he’s got a light under his tail…
