Coming from a non-eventer… what the heck was on the aus girl’s stirrups?
the one that just finished
I didn’t notice the stirrups, but now I am curious - anyone know?

What about Tina Cook? The Brazilian after her has his score up - but not hers?

I believe becky had two stops
Snoopy - send me an email bullet if I ever do that. …she came so far…
Phew - it just posted and it’s good!
I believe that this webcast is pretty much real time with no particular editing - it is not an easy thing to direct and the person doing it may not have had any experience and is just staying with particular cameras. They are probably switching “on the fly” and it is hardly a perfect science! I am sure an edited version will have all that you wish of the Americans.
Isn’t this going to be downloadable later “on demand”?

Time of 8’43" for 17.20 penalties. Puts her into 6th so far. Lovely trip through the angled brush fences.
I wonder if they’re avoiding the US/UK etc. riders so we all watch it on TV tomorrow night.
I’m SO not complaining! This is the best coverage EVER!
looks like Totsio is tired!
wow, that was ugly. And a little scary. Glad he got it together and went on!
This Russian rider is a bit frightening.
That horse almost went into the tent!

Sorry your at work but I think you are probably right that they aren’t editing it for the audience right now. On TV tomorrow it probably will be different coverage.
Is there a virus going round or something? some of the riders seem way to tired. I mean I understand the heat and humidity and all, but there have been at least 3-4 now that I found frightening. Like the horse was taking care of them in the end. While most of the others have seemed just fine.
I’d guess that there are those who are much more sensitive to the heat & humidity there. Some of the horses are looking dogged, too. Frighteningly so
How hot is it?
Yawzah, that was another “good horsey” type moment!

weather.com is giving me 81 degrees F with 87% humidity for Hong Kong right now…
I don’t know today, but the humidity is constantly close to 100%

I’m noticing it more with the smaller countries - or ones not as into three day eventing. I imagine horse/rider are not as used to the rigors of the competition. Add in travel and it adds up.
